About Me

My name is Julie Johnson.  I am a Teacher of the Visually Impaired with a certification in  Assistive Technology. I love to share ideas in the areas of Assitive and Educational Technology.  I love learning about new ipad technology, funding options, implementation ideas, and new ideas integrating low and high technology into a student's daily routines. Recently, I have also had the option of designing and managing several webinars on using the iPad as a piece of assistive technology for children with visual impairments and additional parents resource training on low vision and resources.  I look forward to presenting more webinars in the future on topical information in the field.

I originally created this space as a way to organize my technology resources for all children with visual impairments and all other disabilties. However, over time this space has become a way for me to connect to other professionals in the world of Assistive end Educational Technology as well as connect with software and app developers to help them perfect their products to benefit the lives of people with disabilities.  I look forward to field testing more products for individual with disabilities and learning about the most updated software and apps.

If you have any further questions, feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Hi Julie, I'm the assistive technology consultant at the TN school for the Blind. I would love to share ideas about accessibility and tvi training. Do you happen to have any ipad training agendas? Thanks for being here. Sometimes it seems we are a rare breed! lol
